As I mentioned before, Matthew competed in the CMA Tournament this past weekend. Again, he competed as a High Red and took 1st place in form and 1st place in board breaking. And of course… Again, Beth and I are very proud of him. I wonder if he’ll tier of all these 1st place medals?  Click HERE to view photos from the CMA Tournament or check out the video below.

As a side note, all these photos were taken with my new camera.  While, I’m very impressed with the quality of the camera.  I’ve discovered, I have a lot to learn.  I wont bore you all with the detail, but most of these shots were taken in sports mode because I didn’t want to fiddle around too much with manual settings and risk screwing up shot after shot, while I was trying to watch Matthew compete .  Also, as a side note to my side note… I managed to pick up a telephoto lens for my camera on Sunday when Beth saw that Best Buy had the same camera and the telephoto lens as a package deal only days after we bought ours.

Well, I did it. After hemming and hawing for about the last two years and with a little encourage from Beth, I purchased a DSLR. A Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi with an EF-S 55-250MM lens to be exact. I’ve been waiting a long time to get my hands on my very own DSLR and very excited about using it to get pictures I couldn’t quite get before. Now, I should have no problem capturing those action shots of Matthew doing Tae Kwon Do or playing t-ball… This weekend will be its first true test when I take photos of Matthew at the CMA Tournament.
