As I mentioned before, Matthew competed in the CMA Tournament this past weekend. Again, he competed as a High Red and took 1st place in form and 1st place in board breaking. And of course… Again, Beth and I are very proud of him. I wonder if he’ll tier of all these 1st place medals? Click HERE to view photos from the CMA Tournament or check out the video below.
As a side note, all these photos were taken with my new camera. While, I’m very impressed with the quality of the camera. I’ve discovered, I have a lot to learn. I wont bore you all with the detail, but most of these shots were taken in sports mode because I didn’t want to fiddle around too much with manual settings and risk screwing up shot after shot, while I was trying to watch Matthew compete . Also, as a side note to my side note… I managed to pick up a telephoto lens for my camera on Sunday when Beth saw that Best Buy had the same camera and the telephoto lens as a package deal only days after we bought ours.
Truthfully, work has been kicking my but lately. So, between being tired, having little time and having little to say, it’s been quit on the blogging front. I did manage to upload about two months worth of photos to Flickr the other day. Photos ranging from Matthew’s 6th birthday party to Matthew at the Bally’s TMA Open Tournament and everythingelse in between.
Speaking of TMA Tournament, Matthew did really well. Beth and I are very proud of him. He competed as a High Red this time around and took 1st place (score 9.0) in form and 1st place (score 9.0) in board breaking.
This was Matthew’s first time winning a 1st place spot in board breaking, something he seemed pretty proud of himself for accomplishing. Both 1st place finishes allowed him to participate in the Grand Championship for each event. While he never made it to the next round during either, he did come really close during board breaking. Unfortunately, he missed his last break… I think he rushed himself. But, overall I was very impressed how he took the time to setup all his breaks on his own and without help. We’ll have to see if he can repeat his performance again this Saturday when he competes in the CMA Tournament.
