The Times They Are a-Changin’

Over the last couple of years, I grew a bit tired of blogs. I often just didn’t have the time and energy to really want to post anything. I know some came here to read about my “adventures”, and I am sorry that I had nothing new or exciting to entertain or inform you with. But, maybe I just needed that time to reevaluate my blog.

So, it’s time to change things up. For starters, I’ve wiped the slate clean, so to speak. I deleted the old blog completely and installed a fresh new blog. And for those of you who haven’t been paying close attention… I changed the name from pierson.homeip.net to just spierson82.net. I haven’t been maintaining pierson.homeip.net for a while, so it was just easier to go with my hosted domain anyways. Also, if you haven’t been to this blog in a while, you’ll likely notice that the site looks a bit different. I’ve changed up the layout a bit and more than likely will continue to tinker with it. But those are not the only planned changes.

I am going to try and narrow my focus a bit. Before my post were all over the place… about this, about that. While I’ll still probably post about anything that catches my fancy. I’m going to try to keep the theme of Geocaching more prevalent. Why? Because I like geocaching. Don’t hold me to any of this, it’s just something I’m going to try. Not to mention, I’m still not sure I have the time and energy to really to post anything. So, I might try doing more micro-blogging instead. Who knows?

So, I hope you like some of the changes. Feel free to leave comments or questions.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

Well, It’s official… The race is on! The family and I decided to have a travel bug race. We thought we’d kick off the race today at our 1000th find (GC2Q318). Which was graciously placed in our honor by a great group of cachers.  In any case, The Pierson Family Travel Bug Race is an on-going race among three travel bugs. The race is a little different than a typical “how far will it travel” race. In this race, contestants race for points. Besides earning points for miles traveled, each travel bug can earn additional points for meeting certain goals. Meet the goals and your travel bug earns points. Earn the most points and that travel bug takes the lead… I say takes the lead because we never gave the race an end date or finish line. We all thought it would be fun just to keep them racing.  My goal is to update this site monthly with race updates, so make sure to check back every now and again to see how our contestants are doing.

Well, I’ve wrestled with reality for 35 years, Doctor, and I’m happy to state I finally won out over it. - Elwood P. Dowd
