The Short and Sweet
Hi, My name is Steve, I’m thirty-five years old and I live in Plainfield, Illinois with my wife, Beth, our son, Matthew, and our dogs, Wyatt and Baxter.
This Blog
This blog was created in the spring of 2004 as a place for me to expand my creativity and provide me a project to tinker with. But, after a few months, it turned into much more than that. It now allows me to share my thoughts, express my feelings and keep family and friends up to date. Like many, I started out with Blogger, but after while I realized I wanted some more functionality. That’s why on February 6th, 2006, I said goodbye to Blogger as my everyday blogging platform for a much more superior one, WordPress.
Since then, this blog has undergone several builds and re-builds and probably always be in some sort of flux. This will explain any broken links or any other general malfunctions.
While most blogs seem to have a particular theme or subject such as politics, gadgets, conspiracy theories, or what have you. I tend to post on just about anything that interests me; movies, gadgets, geocaching, etc. Occasional, a particular theme may break out, but I assure you that it is just a coincidence.
I encourage reader feedback so, if you’ve got an alternative viewpoint or simply agree with everything I say then please post a comment.
More About Me
I’m an avid Flickr user. I consider myself an amateur photographer. I have no illusion that I am among the best. But, I do like taking pictures, and learning more about photography. I also enjoy hearing from others and their honest critiques. I will occasionally post some these photos here. You can find all of these photos on Flickr or the Photos page. However, I have made many of them available only to family and/or friends. If you fall into one of these two categories, and would like to see them all, please send me an email or add me to your Flickr contact list, so that I can add you. While I enjoy sharing my photos, I have decided to make some private as not to bore the entire World Wide Web.
Some of my hobbies and interests include, Animation, Art, Bicycling, Camping, Computers, Fishing, Geocaching, Hiking, History, Model Railroading, Movies, Music, Paintball, Photography, Science, Technology, and Television.
Favorite Books: While I don’t think I could name a favorite book. I usually enjoy non-fiction, history and trivia books.
Favorite Movies: This is a large and ever growing list, but The Blues Brothers is at the top.
Favorite Music: I like to think I have a very wide and varying taste in music. I enjoy listening to everything from Blues to Classical to Jazz. But, Country and Rock tend to be my staples.
